Yuzen Strawberry Plum Blossoms on Chocolate chiyogami paper from Paper Source

With less than four months to go before the wedding, it’s high time I figured out what to do with our invitations. I fell in love with this gorgeous chiyogami paper at Paper Source a long time ago and was determined to use it to decorate our invitations.

Since then, I’ve incorporated the pattern into our wedding web site and (e-mail) save-the-dates and I’ve been searching like mad for invitations that would match.

I love the look of letterpress and I found quite a few cherry blossom invitations that might work with the chiyogami pattern. But not necessarily my budget, especially if I want matching reception and response cards. Prices listed are for 2-color invitations and 1-color enclosures and reply cards unless otherwise noted.

Dauphine Press

Dauphine Press has a beautiful collection of letterpress invitations, including two with cherry blossom motifs. They allow extensive customization—changes to colors, motifs, fonts, and paper are complimentary with each order. The invitation on the right is my favorite of all the invitations I’ve looked at so far.

Left: Blossom Classic (5×7 panel invitation)
Right: Woodcut Blossom invitation (4×9 panel invitation)

Price for 100 invitations: $1001
Price for 100 invitations, reception cards, and reply sets: $1873
Samples: $25

They’re almost exactly what I want, but way out of my price range.

White Aisle Designs

White Aisle Designs has a large collection of elegant wedding invitations, available flat or letterpressed. These two invitations caught my eye:

Left: Cherry Blossom (6×8 folder invitation)
Right: Winter (6×8 panel invitation)

Price for 100 letterpressed invitations: $680
Price for 100 letterpressed invitations, reception cards, and reply sets: $1280

Price for 100 flat-printed invitations: $275
Price for 100 flat-printed invitations, reception cards, and reply sets: $525

Samples: $4

You can customize design colors, font colors, and font styles for both invitations. A third invitation, Kyoto, also features cherry blossoms, but the style isn’t quite what I’m looking for and you cannot customize the design color.

Bella Figura

Sakura letterpress wedding invitation from Bella Figura Bella Figura has but one letterpress cherry blossom invitation:

Sakura (5×7 pocketfold invitation)

Price for 100 invitations: $948
Price for 100 invitations, reception cards, and reply sets: $1728
Samples: $7

Colors and fonts are both customizable.

Papeterie

Cherry Blossom letterpress wedding invitation from Papeterie Papeterie has one as well, which is also available in flat printing:

Cherry Blossom (5×7 panel invitation)

Price for 100 invitation sets: $1150 (1-color letterpress is $850)
Samples: $8

Each invitation set includes the invitation, a response card, and the coordinating envelopes. There doesn’t seem to be an option for adding other enclosures.

Colors are customizable for free, but font changes are $10 extra.

Olio Style

Olio Style has a nice collection of invitations in a wide variety of styles, printed flat, with thermography, or letterpressed. There are three cherry blossom invitations in their collection:

Left: Cherry Blossom (layered 5×7 panel invitation)
Center: Blooming Branches (5×7 pocket folder with belly band)
Right: Kyoto (5×7 pocket folder with belly band, also available as a panel invitation)

Colors, fonts, and paper can all be customized. And yes, the Kyoto invitation uses the same motif as the Winter invitation from White Aisle Designs shown above.

Added: Olio Style did respond to my request for pricing information. See their prices here.

Cherry Blossom (5×7 panel invitation)

Price for 100 invitations: $835

It looks like the branches and leaves of the design have to stay brown, but the flowers can be red, green, blue, or other shades of pink.

eInvite does have a letterpress cherry blossom invitation and couple more that have flowers that half look like cherry blossoms. None let you customize the colors of the background design. 100 invitations will cost you $528.20.
